Left school in 1982, went to work for British Rail Engineering Limited (BREL) as a Sheet Metal Worker

1982 to 1985 ONC in Fabrication & Welding

1985 to 1987 HNC in Fabrication & Welding

1988                 HND in Engineering

EITB Time served Sheet Metal Worker with 2 years out of my time before being made redundant.

 

Went on to Structural Steelwork design in Scarborough but became homesick and got a job in Derby as a draughtsman using a drawing board for automotive design work, then moved onto CAD (Intergraph) MEDS, IGDS which became Microstation.

I have been using CAD for over 35 Years, Autocad, Microstation, MEDS, IGDS, Cadds5, PDGS, Solid Edge, SolidWorks,

Catia (V4, V5, V6 & 3DX), Siemens NX, FORAN, FreeCAD, Fusion 260, Onshape.

I have worked in Automotive Seating, Formula 1, Aerospace, Rolling Stock, Train Seating.

I have designed components for Fabrications, Forgings, Castings, Extrusions, Composites, CNC Machined, GRP, additive manufacture.

i have worked with FEA systems to analyse components for stress, strain and fatigue, design optimisation.

Qualified Instructor / Application Engineer / Help Desk Support for Solid Edge.

I have a desktop CNC Milling machine, which can convert to laser cutting / etching, as well as a Resin & FDM 3D printer which i use to make prototypes, i can cast low melting point metals ( Pewter, Zinc), in the process of looking at more metals including Aluminium and Zanak (Uk name Mazak).
